Day 1 of DSA’s Build the People, Not the Jail Days of Action
This summer, members of Madison Area Democratic Socialists of America voted to endorse Resolution 145, known as the “Doyle Resolution,” which would effectively stop Dane County from investing $146 million in a jail expansion project. This week, DSA members and community members united to stop the jail expansion project have a chance to take action. At this Thursday’s Dane County Board of Supervisors meeting, supervisors will vote to put the Doyle Resolution up for a vote at their next meeting on October 15. This is an exciting development and we should push supervisors to take this next step.
This is the first of three days of action this week. Every day we’ll share easy-to-follow instructions that explain who to contact and what to say to push Supervisors to vote to take up the Doyle Resolution at their October 15 meeting.
Day 1: Contact all supervisors who have not yet cast a vote on the jail consolidation project. These are all newer supervisors who weren't on the Board when the vote took place. Take a moment to write to these new supervisors, urging them to take this opportunity to take a stand for a brighter future for Dane County.
