DEC Comment: Make It Personal

Tell the DEC to stop the Williams Pipeline before the July 13 deadline

There are so many reasons we must stop the Williams NESE fracked gas pipeline from being built and together we’ve already submitted over 6,000 public comments to the NY Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) that focus on the narrow legal grounds New York State has to deny the construction permit.

But with just three days left before the comment deadline, it’s time to make it personal.

State agencies like the DEC will often put comments that are copy and paste form comments into one pile to consider as a group, and pay special attention to comments that have an individualized story or letter.

Tell the DEC your personal reason for opposing the Williams Pipeline

If you live in a community that was hit hard by Superstorm Sandy, like many of the communities in Staten Island, Coney Island and the Rockaways that are closest to the proposed pipeline path were, tell the DEC about it.

If you have kids and worry about their future because of climate change, tell the DEC about it.

If you love to swim, surf or fish in the water threatened by the pipeline, tell the DEC about it.

We know science is on our side, and we’ve done an incredible job of providing the DEC with fact-based comments, but now with the deadline so close it’s time to show the DEC all things we love and must protect.

Submit a comment to the DEC before the July 13 deadline
