Demand ASU Restore LGBTQ+ Resources to University Websites

Arizona State University, in a cowardly yet expected move, has removed access to all LGBTQ+ resources on university pages. This includes:
- Removal of community resources, such as links to the student coalitions, cultural and identity-based professional organizations, and alumni chapters
- Name-change resources for trans students
- Wellness resources
- Any mention of LGBTQ+, Pride, or culture actively being removed
We are demanding that ASU immediately do the following:
- Restore ALL of the resources that they removed from university pages
- Publicly apologize for the removal, and guarantee continuous access to these resources
Additionally, we would like to reiterate our previous demands for LGBTQ+ resources on campuses:
- Establish an LGBTQ+ Resource Center under the umbrella of the Rainbow Coalition on campus, as outlined in the Executive Summary of the Cultural Excellence Center & Scholars Program
- Establish a Campus Assault Advocacy, Resources, and Education (CAARE) Center on campus, as outlined in the ASU CAARE Center Proposal authored by Sun Devils Against Sexual Assault (SDASA)
- Improve access to gender affirming care on campus by providing free Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for trans students in the ASU Health Center
- Provide subsidized or free access to emergency contraceptives (such as Plan B) on all ASU campuses
- Introduce contraceptives for sale in the on-campus stores such as the POD Markets and the ASU Campus bookstores
- Adopt mandatory training for ASU healthcare providers on LGBTQ+ resources and healthcare, and sensitivity training for dealing with LGBTQ+ patients
- Increase the number of gender-neutral bathrooms on campus, especially in classroom buildings
- Improve accessibility for gender-inclusive housing in ASU dorms, and allow students in non-gender inclusive housing to be placed in housing with the gender they identify with, rather than their legal gender
Join us in demanding that ASU stand up against attacks against its students by the current administration and pledge to protect its students from further attacks!
We'd like to remind ASU of the prescient slogan from earlier LGBTQ+ movements, in reference to the dangerous nature of silence on LGBTQ+ repression:
SILENCE = DEATH, ACTION = LIFE
ASU's silence puts queer students in danger, and opens us up to more threats to our lives and safety. Stand on the right side of history!
