Demand Tallahassee Community Control of the Police NOW
On June 3rd, 2020, while several thousand people marched in the streets and held signs outside Tallahassee City Hall, the Mayor of Tallahassee and the Tallahassee City Commission met and discussed solutions to end systemic racism and develop police accountability.. At that time Commissioner Williams-Cox put forward a motion to create a Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) “Citizens Review Board” similar to the one killer cop Chief of Police Lawrence Revell created in January of this year. This “review board” would be appointed by the City Commission, the Mayor and the City Manager - the same people who put a racist killer cop into office and who have remained mostly silent on issues of police accountability and systemic racism in Tallahassee. Join TCAC and others and email Tallahassee City Commissioners and Mayor Dailey to let them know that you DO NOT want them to pass an ineffectual “Citizens Review Board”. Tell them you want long-term sustainable community control of the police in the creation of a Tallahassee Civilian Police Accountability Council (Tally CPAC) instead.
