DENY The Appeal of Peace Village

Tell City Council to DENY the appeal to say YES to housing.

For a second time the Peace Village housing project proposed at 900 High Street has been appealed. These delays mean affordable housing is taking longer to get built and costing more. Write a letter to the City Council telling them enough of the delays, we need to move forward with more housing NOW.

Peace Village is a collaboration between Peace United Church, Workbench, and New Way Homes to create more housing opportunities near UCSC on land that belongs to the church.

The project will consist of 25 co-living bedrooms and 34 units ranging from studios to three-bedroom homes.  Half of the bedrooms in the development are affordable to lower income households with the co-living units being affordable to low income and 22.5% of the total unit count will be deed restricted to low and very low-income households.

The property was designed to take advantage of the natural slope of the site and will offer a large amount of open space for its residents.
