The DOE is proposing to cut the amount of school funding that can be used to pay teachers and keep them on staff. We have already heard of several schools where teachers will be excessed. They also want to make huge cuts of $2.3B to the capital plan that will slash the number of new school seats by 38%, just when we will need more space for class size reduction.
