Don’t let the state budget strip protections for our wetlands and rivers!

This week the North Carolina House of Representatives is passing the state budget. But among its many, many provisions are two that would strip protections from our wetlands and streams. One exempts over a million acres of wetlands from state permitting requirements. The other prohibits local governments from doing more than the minimum to control stormwater or protect streambank buffers that slow floodwaters and keep pollution out of our rivers.

Please take action today: tell your state Representative, don’t let the state budget eliminate rules that protect wetlands and river buffers and manage stormwater!
