Last week FEA members presented our ESP Summer Bonus Pay petition to FCPS leadership; first to Superintendent Brabrand at Gatehouse on Wednesday, then to the School Board during Thursday’s meeting at Luther Jackson Middle. While the superintendent and some board members were sympathetic, no solution was proposed to address this inequity.

FEA has also learned that ESPs were originally not slated to receive any summer bonus at all, and were only allocated the $500 as a last minute idea from individuals within FCPS leadership. This is completely unacceptable! Support professionals deserve the same respect and dignity as those in the classroom and should never be an afterthought!

Please help put pressure on the school board to propose a fair resolution to this issue by next week’s board meeting. Send a letter to the board members and let them know you stand with ALL employees within FCPS.
