Employee Requested Agenda Items

Dear STPSB Employees,

There are many pressing concerns that need to be discussed at Thursday's board meeting.  Per school board policy "BCBD," employees of the school district may request items of business to be included on the agenda.  The agenda can be altered up until 24 hours prior to the meeting on Thursday, February 10th, so there is still time to act. Please consider using this "click and send" email or a modified version to demand that some or all of the following topics be included on this Thursday's agenda.

The Federation previously made agenda requests on Friday, January 28th before noon, as per Board policy. Board President Brandon Harrell wrote back that our items would not be place on the agenda "at this time." They are once again not on the agenda for this Thursday's meeting, so we are hoping employees can help.

Topics include: COVID Days, Substitutes, Bus Owner/Operator Operational Supplement, Open Meetings Collective Bargaining, and The Key Academy Charter School.

Note: Each item on the agenda should be listed separately and be described with reasonable specificity. You may use our sample, but feel free to modify the topics, erase items that aren't as important to you, or add agenda items that you feel need to be included.

Show of Solidarity: We need your support!

Who: All bargaining unit employees, friends, family, etc.

What: Monthly Board Meeting

When: Thursday, February 10th at 6 P.M.

Where: Central Office 321 N. Theard St. Covington, LA 70433

Why: As we approach the financial reopener, all employees must unite to demonstrate support for significantly increasing compensation for all employees. We also have critical needs like COVID days, substitutes, and a Bus Owner/Operator Operational Stipend that need to be addressed immediately.

The Federation is asking that all employees and allies wear red and/or red accessories (mask, scarf, hat, etc.) during the workday on Thursday and/or during the meeting as a show of solidarity. #EnoughisEnough

Note: For those who would like to speak for 3 minutes, please sign-up at the podium no later than 5:45 P.M. We really need someone to speak on the need for COVID days.

P.S. For those with concerns about the pandemic, we understand.  If you can't attend, send a friend and/or tune in via the live stream on YouTube.
