Nearly 100 residents spoke at the Redistricting Hearing to raise their concerns and express their objections to the new map only to find their words fall on deaf ears. It was very disheartening to see commission members visibly disengaged and some repeatedly yawning. Jersey City deserves better.

Jersey City's redistricting process was self-serving, lacked transparency as well as diversity, and was a blatant attack on Councilman Gilmore, marginalizing his historic efforts along with the community that elected him.
