Extend Comment Deadline to Protect Our Wetlands and Streams!

An application was filed on November 8, 2022, from VinFast Manufacturing US, LLC seeking Department of the Army Corps authorization to permanently discharge dredged or fill material into a total of 3,688 linear feet of stream channel, 22.789 acres of wetlands, and 1.0 acre of open water impoundments, and temporarily discharge dredged or fill material into a total of 4,095 linear feet of stream channel and 14.292 acres of wetlands, associated with developing an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing complex and associated infrastructure in Chatham County, North Carolina.
The initial package was released for review before Thanksgiving and comments are due right before Christmas. The package is 300 pages of material to review.
WE NEED A COMMENT EXTENSION. We are asking US Army Corps of Engineers to give us a comment deadline extension of 30 days in order to review these documents and protect our streams and wetlands from being permanently destroyed.
This proposal would construct utilities and gas lines to cross the Haw River, fill sections of stream in Shaddox and Gulf Creeks, and permanently fill wetlands. We need to act fast to request a comment deadline extension and submit comments for a new proposal to protect our streams and wetlands.
