Library workers are employees of the City. While that comes with many benefits, it also comes with a ten-year residency requirement. As the cost of living in Boston goes up, BPL and the City must do more to attract and retain library staff through fair cost-of-living wage increases and benefits that reflect the skills and talents that library staff bring to their jobs.
