Prevent Microplastic Pollution - Support the Fighting Fibers Act of 2024

Support the Fighting Fibers Act of 2024 to reduce microplastic pollution of our water and ocean

Scientists estimate millions of tons of microfibers enter the ocean every year—making textiles the largest known source of marine microplastic pollution. The Fighting Fibers Act of 2024 (S.4884) introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) focuses on one of the most significant sources of this pollution: our laundry. The Act would require washing machines to include microfiber filtration and would also commission research on the impact of microfibers in our water.

Fill out the form to urge your U.S. Senators to co-sponsor the Fighting Fibers Act of 2024 to help prevent more microplastics contamination of our ocean, water, soil, and bodies.
