Fix the Fund

When Marylanders approved—and then expanded— casino gaming, they thought the new revenue would increase education funding. But instead, Gov. Hogan has used $1.4 billion of that money to plug holes in other parts of his budgets. The bill to Fix the Fund (HB 1697/SB 1122) will stop this budget gimmick, providing a $500 million increase in school funding—a significant first step in closing the $2.9 billion annual underfunding gap of Maryland public schools. Contact your legislators and ask them to Fix the Fund!
