As young people, we know that we have no time to lose in passing equitable climate justice policy that will support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis. If passed, the Build Back Better Agenda would be the largest climate investment in American history. The Agenda's framework would be transformative and includes over $500 billion for clean energy tax credits, environmental justice investments, a Clean Energy Accelerator, and a Civilian Climate Corps.

But Sen. Joe Manchin has refused to support Build Back Better, leaving the bill at a standstill and our futures at risk. Young people are tired of inaction -- we need climate justice policy that will ensure we inherit a livable planet.  

The Build Back Better Act's strong climate framework is the result of pressure from the youth-led climate justice movement. The passage of the Build Back Better Agenda would be a first step in showing the world that the United States is ready to take accountability for the disproportionate role we play in perpetuating the climate crisis.
