Adding highway lanes will not solve congestion — the evidence is clear  — but highway pollution and climate impacts are all too real. Nonetheless, the Washington State Legislature is still set to invest billions and billions in highway expansion via the Senate and House transportation packages. We must invest in the future by investing in walkable communities, bike networks, and world class frequent transit. The State must put people and climate action first in their transportation package.
