Health and Safety for Incarcerated People, Now!

Organizations across the state need our urgent help to support the health and wellbeing of incarcerated people as the pandemic rages on in state prisons. While many folks on the outside start to enjoy some level of freedom as vaccines roll out across Massachusetts, the crisis remains active and present in state prisons.

During this key period of budget creation and reconciliation in the State House, Prisoners' Legal Services, Families for Justice as Healing, and the Building Up People Not Prisons Coalition have asked us to mobilize constituents around decarceration and independent oversight of the Department of Corrections. We want our legislators to fight for the strongest possible language around decarceration in the State budget for 2022. It's our money, and we want our people safe from continued disease and outbreaks that impact our entire state.

Additionally, please join us and ask your legislators and their staff to join Massachusetts Against Solitary Confinement and Prisoners' Legal Services on Tuesday, June 22 from 3:30-5pm for the virtual event "Women's Forum: The Impacts of Solitary Confinement."
