Reparations-related bills SB-1403, SB-1331 & SB-1050 have made it to the California Senate Floor where the FULL Senate will have a chance to vote to pass these historic bills! SB-1403 creates an agency to verify eligibility and implement Reparations. SB-1331 creates a Reparations FUND in the state treasury to fund Reparations for residents whose ancestors were enslaved/emancipated in the U.S. SB-1050 directs the agency to facilitate the return of property taken unjustly by state actions such as eminent domain.

Together, these bills lay the groundwork for full Reparations, including direct monetary payments, the return by the state of California of stolen wealth, and the provision of new opportunities to thrive and prosper.
