Hull Public Schools: Support MCAS Conscientious Objectors!

This year, thousands of families are making the choice to opt their students out of the MCAS test. Educators have taken to the streets, made calls, and written letters to demand the cancellation of MCAS. Now, educators are going a step further and submitting letters, or using contractual leaves, to take a stand against a test that disproportionately harms our Black and Brown students, and low-income students.

Currently, one of those educators is facing the threat of disciplinary action for taking such a stand within the Hull Public School System and submitting a letter of intent to be a Conscientious Objector against the administering of the MCAS test.

We are calling on the Hull School Committee and Administration to drop any disciplinary actions and to stand in solidarity with educators, families, and students across Massachusetts who seek the cancellation of this damaging and disruptive high-stakes standardized test.
