New Castle County is in the process of developing the next version of its Comprehensive Development Plan which will serve as a guide for the county's growth and development over the next 10 years. Core to the plan is the integration of growth, development, and sustainability needs with future zoning regulations.

County Ordinance #20-101 is being introduced to require the new Comprehensive Development Plan to include specific requirements to address needed improvements in the areas of environmental justice, social justice, and hazard mitigation (i.e. the effects of climate change). The ordinance is planned for presentation to County Council during the week of Sept. 7th, and could be voted on by Sept. 22nd, so send your letter of support to County Council Members and the County Executive now!
