Keep our elected officials

The majority of voters in Leon county cast ballots for Rocky Hanna to be our superintendent. The idea that you would remove our elected superintendent for defying an emergency order put into place that circumvents the checks and balances ordinarily required for a law to be lawful, is wholly unacceptable. It is a gross overreach of authority. The local educators union, the state union, and even the federal secretary of education have publicly denounced these acts.

We add our voices to oppose to these efforts to undermine our local authority to mitigate disease which destabilizes our ability to provide the children their constitutional right to a safe learning environment. We are all watching to see if you acquiesce to the will of the people, or if you take authoritarian action to remove our right to elected officials.
