Let's Send the Commissioners a Thank You!

Hello Everyone!

Thank you so much for contributing to our letter-writing campaign!

The Commissioners voted NO on the ordinance, all thanks to YOUR hard work. Thank you to those who spoke either in person or via zoom, your impassioned speeches made a huge impact. Every single one of you, whether through speaking, writing, or both, helped us achieve this amazing goal! This was an unprecedented show of solidarity in Collier that won't go unnoticed. You can read about it in these excellent blog posts by Sandy Parker(click here) and David Silverberg (click here).

The Commissioners did pass a resolution instead of an ordinance which affirms the Bill of Rights.

Help us in thanking the Commissioners for standing up for what's right and send a thank you letter now by clicking below.

The next Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) SWFL meeting will be on August 7th at 10am at the Naples Pride Center, be there to celebrate this great win with us! We will be talking about mutual aid and our projects in Collier providing food and supplies to folks hit hard in the pandemic. We will also be continuing to work on the campaign to keep a "Sanctuary City for the Unborn" ordinance off the Naples City council agenda. You will get an email from us. If you do not which to receive our emails, simply click Unsubscribe at the bottom.
