Long Beach People's Budget FY 2023

Hello Long Beach neighbors,

On August 2, 2022 we launch(ed) the Long Beach People's Budget 2022 campaign for Fiscal Year 2023, and we need your help to get our City officials to pass a community care budget.

The City’s budget is a moral document that should reflect our city’s values and priorities.

Will you write the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager urging them to adopt the People’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2023?

Adopting the People’s Budget is more than just a shift in the way the City has done business--it is a pathway to ending anti-Blackness and structural racism in the City, undoing historical disinvestment that has continued for generations, and moving us closer towards a Long Beach that is safe and healthy for all of us, not just some of us. Now is the time for bold change that puts Black lives at the center and reduces harm in every way, prioritizes communities first, invests in real essential services, and reimagines community safety.

We have created a pre-drafted letter you can send. All it takes is 30 quick seconds. You'll feel great after you've made your voice heard. Click through and join the movement.

In solidarity,

The People's Budget LB Coalition
