National Energy Action's Fuel Poverty Awareness Day: Write to your MP!
The energy crisis has continued for over three years, with 6 million UK households unable to afford to stay warm, safe and healthy. There is a real fear that for another winter Disabled people will be switching off essential health and mobility equipment for fear of the energy costs. We know that thousands of Disabled people will not be turning on the heating either, putting their health at further risk.
National Energy Action are trying to highlight the experiences of people who live in cold homes, campaign for more support and highlight the solutions to fuel poverty.
National Energy Action (NEA) is the national fuel poverty and energy efficiency charity. They have worked across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for over 40 years to ensure that everyone in the UK can afford to live in a warm, safe and healthy home. NEA work together with frontline practitioners, companies, regulators and the government for customers in marginalised and vulnerable circumstances to make positive changes.
We’ve written a template letter for you here to send to Members of Parliament to call for more support for Disabled households facing poverty this winter.
