National Pharmaceutical Association's Appeal for Congress to Continue Funding to Combat COVID-19
Health equity and equality is necessary to ensure everyone has the same opportunity for a better quality of life. There are instances where there must be additional support available to address overall global health. COVID-19 is one of those instances. There have been much needed resources provided by the government to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning. One program in particular, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) COVID-19 Uninsured Program, established to reimburse health care providers for the costs of delivering COVID-19 testing and treatment services and administering vaccines to those who are uninsured, ceased on April 5, 2022. The continuation of funding from Congress is imperative to ensure those minorities facing barriers to access to care have the chance to continue to receive booster vaccines, testing, and treatment if needed.
