NJ Legislators: Oppose the PVSC Power Plant

Stop the PVSC Power Plant!

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC) has plans to build a new fracked gas power plant at their massive wastewater treatment facility in the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark. Last month we won a temporary pause on this project when Governor Murphy directed PVSC to delay a vote to move the project ahead. But without additional decisive action from Governor Murphy, this project could move forward in the coming months.

We cannot allow any new polluting projects to worsen the air quality in Newark and the surrounding region, where residents already suffer from the consequences of decades of environmental racism.

Governor Murphy has the power to stop this project. He can direct PVSC to stop all work on the gas plant and redesign the project with a renewable energy alternative — but we need our elected officials at all levels of government to push him to do the right thing.

Send a message to your elected leaders urging them to oppose the new fracked gas power plant!
