In November 2021 Denver signed onto a contentious settlement allowing Xcel Energy to burn coal its dirtiest coal plant until 2035. This flies in the face of Denver's own climate goals, is an affront to the frontline communities breathing the nearby toxic air and all of us suffering the climate catastrophe.

Luckily the Public Utility Commission is likely to amend or reject this proposed settlement. We need to ensure the city of Denver doesn't sign on to any future dirty deals with Xcel Energy.

Call or email your city council rep and tell them to reject any future dirty deals with Xcel Energy and to close the Comanche 3 Coal Plant by 2030 or sooner.
