NO more funding for Trump’s mass detention and deportations

Congress needs to come to an agreement by March 14th to keep the government funded and avoid a government shutdown. They are considering again simply extending appropriated funding levels through a “Continuing Resolution” or CR. Congress already approved over $29 billion for fiscal year 2024 funding for abusive immigration enforcement agencies, largely going to enrich private contractors. Now, Congress has presented a short-term funding proposal that would provide billions for increased detention and deportations.
Not only do these billions of cumulative dollars for immigration enforcement separate families, disrupt communities’ entire social and economic infrastructure, and commit countless human rights abuses, but this money comes at the expense of prioritizing vital programs and services that support everyone’s needs, like healthcare and food assistance for children and families.
This is an outrage, but you have an opportunity to urge your elected officials to NOT approve this funding. Join us in urging your representatives to block the administration’s devastating attacks on immigrants by rejecting more funding for enforcement, detention, and deportation throughout this year’s government funding process.
