Congress is considering a rider to an omnibus bill that would pave the way to raise Shasta Dam by 18.5 feet. Raising Shasta Dam would permanently alter the McCloud River, a designated California Wild and Scenic River, violate state law, and destroy Native American sacred sites. Because the rider would be both economically and environmentally harmful, we urge you to let your Senators and Representatives know you oppose such a provision.
