NY State Legislators — Pass the Beauty Justice Bill

Everyday use hair, skin, and makeup products found in nearly every New York store can contain ingredients causing asthma, allergies, hormone disruption, neurodevelopmental problems, infertility, and even cancer.

The average American woman uses twelve personal care and cosmetic products and is exposed to more than one hundred fifty chemicals before leaving the house each morning. Black women tend to suffer more from hormone-related health problems such as early puberty, infertility, and endometrial and breast cancers. Men use six per day, and are exposed to eighty five chemicals.

The U.S. lags behind global standards, only restricting about thirteen chemicals, whereas the E.U. has banned over one thousand dangerous chemicals to human health.

Please co-sponsor, advocate for, and pass the Beauty Justice Bill (S4265 Webb/ A6969 Glick) this session to get the most dangerous toxins out of our products!
