Oppose ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader) Expansion

The City Council is in the process of launching an ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader) Expansion Program which includes moving the on-premise database of license plate reads to an off premise, cloud-hosted database managed by Axon, a third-party, private company. This change will enable other states to circumvent WA state’s Shield Law and Keep WA Working Act, which are meant to protect both women seeking reproductive healthcare and immigrant workers.
