Oppose HB 1332 in the Senate

Don’t they have better things to do?

Today, the Senate Education Committee approved a bill that would require Pennsylvania schools to post all information about academic standards, syllabi, textbooks, and course descriptions on their websites.

Now, it goes to the full Senate. And we need to let senators know that we’re too busy teaching kids to waste time on this nonsense.

PSEA members have already sent 10,000 emails to legislators urging them to vote “no” on this bill. But we need more.

Contact your state senator TODAY and tell him or her to oppose House Bill 1332.

Here’s what you need to know about House Bill 1332.

  • Right now, state regulations say that schools must have policies to grant parents and guardians of students access to “curriculum, including academic materials, academic standards to be achieved, instructional materials and assessment techniques.”
  • School districts typically make all of this information physically available for parents and guardians to review on-site through an established process.
  • This bill would require schools to post all syllabi, textbooks, related academic standards, and course descriptions online for anyone to see.
  • The state House passed this bill on Oct. 5.
  • The bill would take effect in the 2022-23 school year.

This bill is about politics, not public education

We know what this is really about. Anti-public education legislators want to interfere with how our public schools work and push their political agendas.

PSEA members don’t have time to waste just so they can help push politicians’ anti-public education agendas.
