Oppose the Trump adminstration's cuts to NIH funding!

This e-letter asks your congressional representatives in the Senate and the House to strongly oppose the Trump adminstration's cuts to National Institutes of Health funding - specifically Trump's executive order that instituted a 15% cap on reimbursement for indirect costs to NIH grant recipients.

The NIH is the primary source of federal funding for research in medicine and public health. Without adequate federal support, people will lose their jobs, life-saving research will halt, and people will die.

The NIH cuts will hit New York state particularly hard. New York is the second leading recipient of NIH funding, and 30,000 jobs in the state are supported by NIH grants. New York stands to lose $850M in NIH grants, impacting 250 institutions. The SUNY system alone could lose $40M in NIH funding if the Trump administration’s order is not permanently stopped.

The letter urges New York's congressional delegation to stand up and fight back against these illegal, harmful NIH funding cuts. It also requests that they vote against any budget that contains the cuts.

Thank you for your support!
