The federal government is simply not doing enough to protect the citizens of this country from the existential threats of climate change and nuclear war. We need a Citizens Commission to look into the most effective ways that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts can protect its citizens from these threats and can use its influence to get more action from the federal government. In the meantime, we need Massachusetts to take a clear stand on the need to move us back from the brink of nuclear war. And we need a clear stop to any more expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure in this state.

The Nuclear Weapons and Climate Commission bill (H.738/S.1488), the Back from the Brink resolution (S.1487) and the Gas Moratorium bill (S.2135) have all been voted favorably out of committee, which is an important step forward! But they cannot become law unless they are brought to the floor for a vote.
