Protect our Streams and Wetlands! Ask Army Corps to Deny VinFast Permit

The VinFast project is an enormous site in Chatham County, with a mission to increase electric vehicles and reduce carbon emissions. But this company that has touted an environmental conscience has submitted a proposal that would destroy thousands of feet of streams, cross the Haw River, and permanently fill dozens of acres of wetlands. Impacted communities and advocates for the health of our watershed have little time in the busy holiday season to review this proposal and engage in meaningful public participation, however it is imperative to submit comments on the impacts to streams, wetlands, open water, and the river itself to give Army Corps of Engineers the information to deny the permit or put stringent protections in place.

OUR DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED to JANUARY 5th.

Please take a moment to submit comments to David Bailey at Army Corps of Engineers to encourage them to deny the 404 permit which would allow VinFast to cross the Haw River, and fill and dredge our streams and wetlands.
