Protect Public Education Funding
It is critical that our state lawmakers commit to protecting public education funding. No cuts to public education!
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the country hard, and, predictably, state revenues are down due to people being safe and staying home instead of eating out, shopping, and engaging in other public activities they otherwise might have.
This presents a problem for public education funding. With reduced revenue, lawmakers will likely be tempted to cut public education funding, putting students, teachers, school staff, and school districts in impossible spots as they work their hardest to teach students, provide for student social and emotional needs, and keep their schools fully staffed. School districts all across the state AND country are rapidly losing teachers, TAs, and other vital school staff.
This is why it is critical that lawmakers commit to protecting public education funding. No cuts to public education!
