Protect Texas Ground Water

Texas groundwater, a critical resource that sustains millions of people and their livelihoods is under attack.  The Senate Agriculture, Water and Rural Affairs Committee will take up Senate Bill 1392 on Monday, April 10.

SB 1392 would dilute the control of Texas groundwater districts, the critical local water agencies that monitor, oversee, and protect groundwater in regions around the state.  The bill undermines and restricts a groundwater district’s authority by establishing a “one size fits all” approach to districts which monitor unique aquifers and safeguard groundwater sources.
