Funding for public education is in serious jeopardy. The U.S. House of Representatives is proposing to completely eliminate the Title II-A program, which is the only federal program that allows districts to provide school leader-specific professional development.

Based on House and Senate versions of fiscal year 2024 Labor HHS Education appropriations bills, Title II-A could see anywhere between level funding to complete elimination. Any cut would mean a significant backtracking on our upward funding trajectory and set back our future annual funding efforts.

We now are calling on all AFSA members to make one final effort to convince your senators and representatives to support Title II-A before a final deal is completed.
