Protect Your Constitutional Rights!
HB 1193 will be heard in the senate soon that would directly impact union members and infringe on our constitutional rights. HB-1193 is an anti-protest bill that is painted with such a broad brush that any demonstrators, picketers or strikers could easily be affected.
HB 1193 would increase the penalty of a misdemeanor to a class C felony for anyone
who commits a misdemeanor while
causing economic harm over $1000 to a business or government. Something as simple
as "unreasonable noise" or "obscene language" could be ratcheted up to a
felony charge, having a
chilling effect on our first amendment rights.
This bill already passed in the House and must be stopped in the Senate.
Please write your State Senator about how terrible this bill would be to our freedom of
speech. Let them know that the working people of North Dakota will not tolerate any infringement on their constitutional rights!
