Protect Your Rights as an Insurance Policy Holder
Big insurance companies are intentionally delaying and denying claims, as well as slashing the adjuster’s initial estimates to lowball Louisiana policyholders.
There are two bills currently in the Louisiana House of Representatives and they’re being voted on soon.
House Bill 287 by Rep. Mack Cormier is a good measure that requires the adjuster to immediately provide a copy of the initial estimate to help combat insurance companies unfairly modifying the damages estimate.
HB 604 by Rep. Garofalo and HB 183 by Rep. Firment ties policyholders up in red tape by creating a complicated and prolonged process that makes it difficult for storm victims to repair their home or small business after a storm.
