Please send a letter to the new City Council Charter Revision Committee to propose that the school planning process be reformed. This is important to ensure that schools are built in communities where they are already overcrowded or projected to become so because of development and/or enrollment trends. The projections on overcrowding should be updated regularly with an estimate based upon the latest housing and census data; and parents should be involved in the planning process through their elected Community Education Councils.
