The final version of the White House’s Industry Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP) rule is expected to be released in Spring 2020. Now it's our job to keep up the heat and protect registered apprenticeships in the construction industry.

We put special interests on notice this summer when union construction workers submitted a record-breaking 325,000 comments, speaking up for workplace safety and quality training. But the threat is still real. The final rule could still contain harmful language for the Ironworkers – including a temporary exemption for the construction industry or no exemption at all. The rule may even change the definition of “construction” to allow IRAPs to encroach on our work, inch by inch.

We can stop this rule once and for all by acting together. Don’t delay. Send a message to your Senators now. Ask them to stand with us and protect our registered apprenticeships.
