Say No to Racist Land Law, S.B. 132!

It is important to foster a fair and inclusive environment for all those who call Georgia home. Newcomers from all over the world have become a valued part of Georgia communities and an asset to the state’s economic prosperity. However, new alien land laws, such as S.B. 132, prevent individuals and entities from China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia and Venezuela from owning land in the state. The narrative around the bill specifically targets people from China. Furthermore, the bill violates constitutional and fair housing protections for people based on their national origin.

Given the rise in anti-Asian violence and the history of anti-Asian legislation, it is imperative that communities speak out to oppose these racist and xenophobic laws. To learn more, you can read our report on the history of anti-Asian racism in America and an analysis of similar bills across the South.
