Democrats won control of the Senate but Mitch McConnell is doing everything he can to obstruct democracy through bad-faith negotiation on the Senate Organizing Resolution. *

McConnell is demanding that Democrats concede to a power-sharing agreement that prevents the elimination of the filibuster during this Congress. This unprecedented demand would allow Republicans to block important parts of the Democratic agenda, including bills that will impact the midterm elections. Further, McConnell is threatening to filibuster the Organizing Resolution if he doesn’t get his way, which would prevent the Senate from getting to work.

Please immediately take this action which will automatically send emails to Senators Feinstein and Padilla on your behalf. The email asks them, together with all Senate Democrats, to stay strong on the Organizing Resolution and refuse to give in to McConnell. They should speak out firmly against removing the option to eliminate the filibuster in this Congress. And, when Republicans abuse the filibuster, they should be prepared to eliminate it in order to advance legislation that will improve the lives of all Americans.
