Update for the week of February 26: The Extreme MAGA House did succeed in passing their dirty bill HR7176 which would overturn President Biden's LNG export pause. The bill isn't going anywhere in the Senate - UNLESS it gets included in a must pass spending bill to avoid a Government shutdown. We’ve seen that before with dirty deals to mandate the Mountain Valley Pipeline and other fossil fuel projects. So we've updated our sample letters to Democrats and Republicans, and are asking all climate hawks to send another message this week as (yet another) shutdown deadline looms.

Under President Biden’s leadership, America is already leading the world in renewable energy and electric car deployment. Now he’s made a politically smart decision to pause all new LNG export permits, starting with the CP2 project, pending a review of their impact on the climate and economy.

But Republicans are furious over President Biden's decision to pause all new LNG export permits. Last week they held a series of hearings to spread mis-information, half truths, and crackpot theories attacking Biden's climate progress. And this week, they're gearing up for votes in the House, and possibly the Senate, to try and block Biden's climate progress.

The bills and amendments Republicans are proposing are unnecessary, and unhinged. But that doesn't make them harmless.
