SEND EMAIL: Drop The Charges Against the #Tally14 BLM Protesters
On Saturday, September 5th Tallahassee Community Action Committee (TCAC), Dream Defenders, More than a Name, and other partner organizations took to the streets in protest the of grand jury decision to NOT indict the officers who shot and killed Tony McDade, Mychael Johnson and Wilbon Woodard. Within 10 minutes over 300 armed Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) and Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) police forcefully arrested 14 peaceful protestors (known now as the #Tally14), including three prominent Black Lives Matter leaders of TCAC, and put three in the hospital in an orchestrated attack meant to disable anti-racism organizing and stop the local movement for police accountability and community control of the police. This comes one week after TPD released a white supremacist gunman without charges who aimed a gun at local BLM protestors and set a county wide curfew blaming peaceful protesters for violence that they and white supremacist agitators perpetrated on protestors.
