Speak Up for the Ironbound: Protect Our Riverfront and Community

Our deeply spiritual belief in the sacredness of water holds that water connects all life. A proposed development project in the overburdened Ironbound neighborhood in Newark plans for two 30-story towers and two 26-story towers, which would significantly alter the neighborhood and threaten water access, quality and increase flooding. The development threatens to block access to the Passaic River and disrupt the community's sacred connection to its water, while adding pressure to already strained infrastructure. While this area's is designated as an Environmental Justice community by the NJ Department of Environmental Project (NJDEP), this project fails to address concerns about environmental impact, flooding, and the health of residents. Many people must speak up-the community needs our voices in support!
