A Hopkins private police force would threaten the safety of Black students on campus, as well as the surrounding Black community of Baltimore. The university, in its statement on George Floyd and the nationwide protests, made no comment on its own plans to institute a private police force on campus. We must make our voices heard and urge them to immediately cease the creation of this police force, for the safety of all Black students on campus and those who stand with them.
