STOP THE TURNPIKE EXPANSION
Last week the NJTA Board rubber-stamped a $142M contract to do final design work on the Expansion even though the Project is undergoing an environmental review by federal agencies, which could, and should cancel, delay or substantially modify this ill-conceived project.
We need you to write to Governor Murphy today to ask him to veto the 8/27 NJ Turnpike board meeting minutes. Governor Murphy has the power to stop this $142M spend by vetoing the NJTA minutes that approved the contract. Send a message to the Governor and tell him to stick to his promise of fixing NJ Transit, following a Transit First policy (public transit before highways) and veto the NJ Turnpike Authority’s Aug 27 board meeting minutes.
