Tell Ohio Senators to STOP House Bill 8 - The Unsafe Student Act targeting LGBTQ+ Students

URGENT:  House Bill 8 has moved from the House to the Senate Education Committee. Tell Senate Education Committee members to reject this dangerous bill that FORCES teachers and staff to OUT transgender students!

House Bill 8 forces school districts to out transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary students by requiring staff to notify parents about any changes around a student's gender identity. We know this can pose serious harm to students and only they should determine when, how, and with whom they share this deeply personal and private experience.

The Unsafe Students Act also requires districts to notify parents in advance about any "sexuality" content used in the classroom and provide alternative material if the parent objects. This "Don't Say Gay" censorship is a direct attack on LGBTQ+ identities, experiences, and communities.

All students deserve an honest, inclusive education in schools where they feel safe and valued. HB 8 is another extremist attempt to target already vulnerable and marginalized students and censor honest education.
